What Smart Grocer stores on this device

Smart Grocer is a website, an iPhone app, and an Android app. Smart Grocer does not currently use advertising or product-analytics cookies, including from third-party ad networks. If that changes, this policy will be updated first, and you will be asked before any advertising cookies are used. Smart Grocer does store small pieces of data on this device so the app can work:

• Sign-in session (so you stay signed in on this device).
• A guest shopping list, until you create an account.
• Whether you have seen the welcome screen, and your reminder permission.
• Per-device settings in local storage, such as notices you dismissed and how you like the list shown.

None of this is used for advertising or tracking, so there is no cookie banner. In the iPhone and Android apps, storage is limited to what the app needs to sign you in, keep a guest list, and honour reminder and display settings.

Why

These are essential for the service: keeping you signed in, remembering your list before you register, and honouring reminder settings. Smart Grocer does not sell this data.

Your choice

On the website you can clear site data in your browser settings at any time. In the iPhone or Android app, signing out or deleting the app removes device storage. That signs you out and removes a guest list that was only on this device. Signed-in household data stays in your account until you delete the account from Settings.
