Smart Grocer Partner Terms
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms are between you and Smart Grocer when you take part in Smart Grocer partners: you tell your audience about Smart Grocer with your own link or code, and you earn a share of what Smart Grocer receives from the households you bring. They sit alongside the Terms of Service, which cover your Smart Grocer account.
1. Joining
Anyone can apply on the partners page. A person at Smart Grocer reads every application and answers within 3 working days. Smart Grocer may say no to any application, and does not take coupon, deal or cashback sites. You sign in with a Smart Grocer account; signing in to the partners page never sets up a household.
Once approved, you choose a code of 4 to 12 letters or digits (for example SARAH), and your link is smart-grocer.com/p/ followed by your code.
2. What your audience gets
A household set up with your link or code, by an email that has never had a Smart Grocer trial, gets a free trial of 90 days in total. Your audience sees, before they sign up, that you are a Smart Grocer partner and earn a share if they subscribe.
3. What you earn
- 25% of what Smart Grocer receives for each payment a household you brought makes in the 12 months from that household's first payment. "Receives" means after Apple's, Google's or Stripe's fee and any sales tax or VAT taken. A yearly plan paid at once earns 25% of that one payment. Payments after the 12 months earn nothing.
- Every earning waits 30 days after its payment. A payment refunded or charged back inside those 30 days earns nothing. One refunded after it was paid out is taken off your next payout.
- Nothing is earned on your own household, or on a household you, or people you know, set up to earn. Your household can still share friend links like anyone else's, but the two never combine on one household.
4. Payouts
Payouts go through Stripe Connect. You tap Set up payouts on the partners page and fill in Stripe's own form (bank details, identity and tax form). Smart Grocer never sees or stores your bank details, and your earnings wait until it is done.
Early each month, every partner with $25 or more ready (past the 30 days, with payouts set up) is paid. Less than $25 carries over to the next month. Whether and how you pay tax on what you earn is yours to check.
5. The rules
- Say it's paid. Every post, video, email or page with your link or code says it is a paid or affiliate link, for example "#ad, I earn from this link". US law (the FTC) requires it.
- No ads on the name. No paid search ads on "Smart Grocer" or close spellings.
- Not on yourself. No earning on your own household, or on households you or people you know set up to earn.
- No false claims. Say only what the app does. No savings figures, no "cheapest store", nothing about saving money at stores.
- No coupon, deal or cashback sites, and no browser extensions that add codes.
6. What you see
Your partner page shows counts and money only: households that started, households paying, earned and waiting, ready, and paid. You never see a name, email, city or anything else about a household.
7. Leaving and removal
You may stop at any time. Smart Grocer may remove you as a partner. When you are removed, your code and link stop working for new sign-ups at once, and households already set up keep their 90 days. If you broke these rules, Smart Grocer may cancel your earnings not yet paid; otherwise what you already earned is still paid. You get an email either way. If you delete your Smart Grocer account, you are removed, and any amount already past its 30 days is still paid if payouts are set up.
8. Changes
Smart Grocer may change the rates and these rules with 30 days' notice by email. Earnings already made keep the old rate. Smart Grocer emails you when your application is approved or declined, when each payout is sent, and when the rules change.
